When Laura and I set out to open a salon we wrote down on paper how we hoped it would be. It said we wanted to create a space where staff are happy, where they wake up never dreading work, where they feel appreciated, respected and a part of a family. We wanted clients to feel welcome, never intimidated, like they’d walked into our home and were welcome to stay all day. We called it "A Social Life For Your Hair".
Now, it’s easy to write stuff down, but in our wildest dreams we never imagined that we’d achieve it so incredibly. Our salon has some kind of magic about it: an energy between our team and clients like nothing else we’ve ever known. It's a place where you can catch up with friends over a cuppa (or one of our classic Bloody Marys if you'd prefer), listen to good music, and most importantly leave the salon with great hair.
The spirit of "A Social Life For Your Hair" resonated with me and Laura, the team and our clients so much so that it only seemed natural that we name our hero hair styling product after it. After launching the product five years ago, it has gone on to accumulate an array of beauty industry awards, gain a cult following and has been given the ranking of our best selling product. But we're not surprised, it's the salon in product form.

Every product we make starts the same way: a problem overheard on the salon floor. Larry brought a mousse out because it’s the product he uses on every single client pre-blow-dry; he brought the Flyaway Kit out because it was the tool and hack he used for quick fashion show touch-ups. He brought A Social Life For Your Hair out because everyone wanted that little something extra that finishes every look.
With over 40 stylists across three London salons, we’re in conversation with clients every single day - about their hair, their routines, the things they can’t quite solve. That listening shapes everything we do. Our team is hearing about the blowouts that last a day, the texture that never feels effortless, and those pesky everyday flyaways. Those conversations don’t stay on the salon floor. They feed directly back into what we decide to develop next.
When a hair problem comes up again and again, we pay attention, and this becomes our product brief - because we genuinely want to create products that are not only easy to use but will solve your problems and leave you looking and feeling amazing.

Once a product is in development, it doesn’t go out until our salon team loves it. They’re the ones using it every day, on every hair type, in every condition. If they’re not genuinely excited by the product, and if it’s not making their work easier or the client’s hair noticeably better, then it doesn’t go to market.
That process takes longer than simply formulating and launching. It also means our range is small. And every product in it is here for a reason.

We’re not a brand that launches ten products a season. We don’t chase trends or pad out our range. We build slowly, test properly, and only bring something to market when we’re proud of it.

We believe in doing everything we can to reduce the use of plastic. That’s why in #LarrysWorld we think that glass, aluminum and FSC certified card are better alternatives. Because of this, we decided to package all of our products using these materials, reducing plastic wherever we possibly can. It's a step in the right direction, not perfection, but a step closer...
